OPERATIONS AND PRODUCTION SYSTEM
SUPPORT



POSITION TITLE

Project Manager

Directs, establishes, plans and implements the policies and procedures in support of the
organization's Network and PC project and production support services. Manages the
deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of servers, desktop PC, hardware,
software, operating systems and distributed printers. Possesses at least 7-10 years of
industry experience and may include network security as well as an advanced degree in
Computer Science and various certifications including Certified Project Management
Professional - PMP and Certified Information Systems Security Professional – CISSP,
etc. Leads and directs the work of others. Typically reports to senior management.

Project Leader

Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team
members. Reviews, plans, and evaluates network/desktop systems. May troubleshoot
network/desktop systems and recommend improvements. Provides documentation,
project tracking, management reporting, and tactical and strategic input on overall
network/desktop planning and related projects. Possesses 5+ years of LAN and Desktop
related project support experience, project coordination and lead technical experience as
well. May also hold a degree in Computer Science. Works under general supervision
and typically reports to a project manager or department head.

Sr. Network Engineer

Installs, builds, configures, administers, and maintains organization's network and
internal and external web presence. May provide network design and architecture and
support of servers and supporting software. Possesses at least 5-7 years of networking
experience and may hold a degree in Computer Science in addition to some of the
following certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional - MCP, Microsoft Certified

Network Administrator

Installs, configures, maintains, administers and performs system backups of
organization's network. Possesses at least 3-5 years of networking experience and may
hold a degree in Computer Science in addition to some of the following certifications:
Microsoft Certified Professional - MCP, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer – MCSE,
A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA, Cisco Certified Network
Professional – CCNP, & Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator – CCSA, etc. Has
knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on
instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job. Works under

Network Security Architect

Troubleshoots network access problems and implements network security policies and
procedures. Ensures network (LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice) security
access and protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. May hold
a degree in Computer Science with at least 5 years of experience in the field and have
experience in SAN Management, Security Architecture Design, Risk Assessment,
Security Management, Firewalls, as well as the following certifications: CISSP, CCSA, &
CIW, etc. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Mail Server Administrator

Monitors servers, replication, and mail routing. Creates user accounts and maintains
security levels on databases. Provides first-level telephone support and troubleshooting.
Monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working
order. Possesses at least 5+ years of experience focused specifically in E-mail
messaging systems such as Lotus Notes, MS Exchange, Outlook and GroupWise etc.
May hold a degree in Computer Science in addition to some of the following
certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional - MCP, Microsoft Certified Systems

PC Technician III/Lead

Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, upgrades, and repairs computer systems, hardware,
software and computer peripherals. Supports and maintains user account information
including rights, security and systems groups. Possesses at least 5 years of PC
technical support experience and may hold a degree in Computer Science in addition to
some of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer – MCSE and
A+ Certification and Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA, etc. Familiar with a
variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and
judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May

PC Technician II

moves, adds and Changes. Possesses at least 3 years of PC technical support
experience and may hold a degree in Computer Science in addition to some of the
following certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer – MCSE, A+ and
Network+, etc. Platform knowledge should also include Windows NT Workstation,
Windows 2000 and basic TCP/IP knowledge. Familiar with standard concepts, practices,
and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to

PC Technician I
